Lanterns
I've been toying with the idea of using paper lanterns for decorating the Freebird. We've been okayed to pretty much do what we want up to and including nailing things into the walls. I thought it would look very pretty to string lighted lanterns from the balcony suspended over the ceremony space. Perhaps something like the photos below?

Love this idea. It was something I had wanted to do but could not really implement.
ReplyDeleteTHere are battery operated ones you can get but having bought some myself I can tell you that they are sort of crappy. I think they would last for the wedding but after that they mostly stopped working. Something with cords would probably be better.
I found a site that sells lanters and lighted cords separately. Once I find that link I'll post it here. They were reasonably priced. At some point I'll need to get a measurement of the space and see how many electrical outlets there are.
